Our background
EWEC Water GmbH was established by the renowned German engineering firms Emscher Wassertechnik GmbH (Essen) and Weber-Ingenieure GmbH (Pforzheim) to address the growing demand for high-quality engineering and consulting services in international water markets.
Officially registered on 1 January 2015, EWEC Water operates from Pforzheim as a 100% subsidiary of its parent companies. This structure enables full access to extensive technical know-how, specialized expertise, qualified staff, and modern office infrastructure.

Who we are
Dr.-Ing. Dirk Schönberger
Managing Director EWEC Water
Dr.-Ing. Dirk Schoenberger brings more than a decade of international consulting experience to EWEC Water. With a strong technical background in water supply and sanitation engineering, a PhD in mechanical engineering, and extensive management experience, he plays a key role in developing EWEC Water’s international business and project operations.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Scheer
Managing Director EWEC Water and Emscher Wassertechnik
Besides being Managing Director of EWEC Water, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Scheer is Managing Director of EWEC Water’s shareholder Emscher Wassertechnik GmbH. His strong scientific background and outstanding expertise in wastewater treatment processes and technologies ensure the highest technical quality of EWEC Water’s consulting services and the close integration of Emscher Wassertechnik’s know-how into international projects.
Dipl.-Ing. Jan Weber
Managing Director EWEC Water and
Managing Partner of Weber-Ingenieure
As managing partner of EWEC Water’s shareholder Weber-Ingenieure GmbH and as a managing director of EWEC Water, Dipl.-Ing. Jan Weber has outstanding knowledge of the German water sector and is well connected to the sector’s key players. Dipl.-Ing. Weber will support and coordinate all input from Weber-Ingenieure to EWEC Water’s projects.
